James Carney

Background:

James Carney was born on May 24, 1978. A star in Division II, he was an All-American at Millersville University. He later transferred and graduated from Penn State (2001). Originally from West Newton, Pennsylvania he now lives and trains in Boulder, Colorado.

Carney finished 14th in the US Olympic trials marathon.

In 2008, Carney won the USA Half Marathon Championship and followed that performance up placing 6th at the US XC Championships and 4th at the US 8k title race in March.

He is sponsored by New Balance, represented by Kimbia Athletics, and coached by Brad Hudson.

Personal Bests:

Top times include 27:43 in the 10k, 59:10 in the 20K, and 1:02.21 in the half-marathon and 2:16.54 in the marathon.
