Road to the Track Trials Episode #3
James Carney and Casey Burchill got in some fast track work at Hayward Field in preparation for racing some 10k's and 5k's.  Blip.TV version:




James Carney is the 2008 U.S.A. Half Marathon Champion running a 1:02:21 time in his debut at the distance this past January.  James earned the Olympic/IAAF A Standard in the 10,000 meters last year with a time of 27:43 and he is looking forward to racing the 10k at the U.S. Olympic Trials with the A standard already secure.  A New Balance athlete, James spends part of the year in Colorado.  He had strong showings at the 2008 USA Cross Country Championships with a 6th place finish and a 4th place finish at the U.S.A. 8k Road Champs in March in Central Park.  James raced to a PR of 13:31 in the 5,000 meters on the track earlier in the month at the Cardinal Invitational. Casey is a former distance standout for Arizona State University who is working to secure a qualifier for the 10,000 meters for the U.S. Olympic Trials.  Casey opened his racing this year with a 14:13 performance at the Cardinal meet.  Casey is sponsored by the Eugene Running Company.
